Taylorsteel is a name synonymous with long standing service to the Engineering Industry, and we are proud of a record that stretches back to our foundation in 1889 when Charles Henry Taylor, a ships blacksmith, established our roots at Aston in Birmingham.
Throughout the following years Taylorsteel has met every challenge of changing demand, from drawing bright steel bars to the manufacture and supply of chrome molybdenum hollow bored bars for the oil industry, supplying some 40 countries.
In 1974 Taylorsteel expanded its operations by opening a steel depot in Oldham Lancashire and soon moved in to a purpose built warehouse (pictured above). Further expansion in 1990 resulted in Taylorsteel opening its third operation at Hebburn, Tyne & Wear.
In December of 1992 Taylorsteel became a part of the HKB Steel Group where Taylorsteel continued concentrating on its traditional role of steel stockholders of bright and black carbon and alloy steel bar.
In addition to Taylorsteels stockrange we now had the back up of 11,000 Tonnes of stock of popular sizes and specifications and now became part of one of the largest independent engineering steel stockholders in the country.
